a well lived bland life
Anna asked yesterday, "Ok, who broke spring?" That is the question. What happened to spring? The weather in Iowa has been crazy to say the least: devastating tornados in northern Iowa on Sunday, thunderstorms popping up across the state almost everyday since, and more rain than one can "shake a stick at". In fact, so much rain has fallen that there is no longer a stick to be shook as it has washed away along with the Spring we were so wonderfully enjoying. Yesterday rain came down in blankets. Just when you thought it couldn't possibly rain any more it did just that. This morning saw the end of rain and the sun has been fighting to emerge only to shed light on the rising flood waters as the runoff compounds. Just down the road from where I work is a golf course....well it used to be a golf course. It has now become a raging sea of muddy water and scattered flags peering out of the water.
The yellow flag seen in the middle of this photo sits on an elevated green and is about six feet tall.
The golf course has become a flowing sea of water.
