a well lived bland life
Imagine this. You're walking through a wooded area, miles from anywhere, and you come upon a small patch of trees bearing fruit. You've been walking for miles and haven't eaten in hours and your stomach is growling something fierce. You are then confronted with the wild orchard before you. As hungry as you are, the tree you choose will be the one that appears most delicious to you. Why choose the tree with the rotten or bruised fruit? No one would. The fruit represents the tree. You are going to choose which tree you eat from by the fruit which represents it. You would judge the tree by its fruit. The same is true of people. We judge people by the way we see them and people judge us by our actions, speech, and the way we treat other people. If we claim to be something then our actions should resemble such, our fruit should be of the flavor we claim to be. If we claim to be caring then we should be seen by our fruit as caring. The same goes for a Christian. Many people are turned off from Christianity because of the hipocricy of many Christians. We claim to be one thing, but our actions say something entirely different. You can't claim to be a follower of Christ and still live like a follower of the world. They are opposite of one another. Being a Christian is a whole life changing affair. All or nothing. There is no partiality to Christianity, there is only believing. If we truely believe, then our life will follow suit, full-board, no holds bar, living life for Him.
