    Return to the Smokey Mountains

A few weeks ago we went on a family vacation with Anna's parents back to the area in Tennessee where we went on our honeymoon.  We ended up staying in a different cabin, for reasons I won't go into here, but we did find a really nice, and cheaper, cabin.

We had a great time and enjoyed seeing more sites this time as well as showing Anna's parents the ones we discovered on our first visit.

One of the new things we embarked on was driving into the Smokey Mountain National Park and up to a observation tower which sits at the highest point in the Appalachian Mountains on the border between Tennessee and North Carolina.  It was exciting.

This was also Nora's first trip to the Smokey Mountains (obviously).  She wasn't one for the long car rides, but she did enjoy spending time with her parents and grand parents.

On the return trip home we stayed for a couple of nights in Columbus, Ohio with some friends of ours and enjoyed their hospitality.

When all was said and done we drove 2,198 miles and enjoyed a week away.
