a well lived bland life
With the little one on the way I've been contemplating our photographical capabilities and decided even with our nice Canon SD700 point-and-shoot the photographer in me wouldn't be happy. A friend of mine happened to be selling the very camera I wanted and since it appeared it was meant-to-be I pulled the trigger and bought our new Nikon D40. I've now had the camera over about a week and half and can't seem to pry the camera from my hands. For those of you who know me, this shouldn't come as a surprise. I think I'm starting to annoy Anna as she can't stretch, scratch, or sleep without that precious moment being captured in vivid detail and optimal exposure. The camera makes it almost impossible to take a bad picture and has a very satisfying 'snap' as the shutter opens and closes. We went to my parents for dinner the other night and the camera seemed to follow us even there. Even Buddy enjoyed the new camera: Anyway, with the addition of our new camera my nickname as the "paparazzo" of the family (at least the Bland-side of the family) has become even more secured. Consider this a warning to all family members at the coming holiday gatherings.
